The reputation of the Textile Degree is founded upon an alumni who are able to amalgamate knowledge of the mechanics of process with an understanding of contemporary design approaches.

During their learning experience the individual voices of the students are encouraged and reaffirmed through practical, technical exploration and investigation.

These experiences are intensely practical, the learning is ‘hands-on’ and leads to an inquiring approach to problem solving and material development.

The students develop a focussed, extensive craftsmanship of either print, knit or weave, and then develop a holistic ethos, combining  the different disciplines as appropriate to their intended outcomes.

Graduates identify themselves as textile designers, able to move between fashion, interiors, and self expression, although many do choose to specialise in specific areas.
