NUDE CALENDAR FOR UNIVERSITY
Glass and Ceramic students will be showing more than beautifully sculpted
forms in a new calendar they have created to help raise funds for their end of
year exhibition.
Shot in tasteful black and white, the students reveal their talented sides in this
extended 18 month artwork. The photographs depict the students individually and
in groups showing their prowess working with glass and ceramics, throwing
pots, making plaster moulds and screen printing while wearing nothing but the
essentials, steel toe capped boots!
“We wanted to show the students at work and all the amazing equipment we
have in the department” said Claire Turner (20) Level 3 ceramics student,
originally from Bury.
“Although it’s a serious creative subject we also wanted to be abit cheeky and
playful about it”
Not only are the 12 students raising funds for their stand at New Designers but
every calendar sold will raise £1 for local charity Pennywell Youth Project.
Calendars will be on sale price £8 from their website
www.glassandceramicscalendar.com and at the University Glass and Ceramics
department based at the National Glass Centre, Sunderland.
