Looking back to the start of your career, what advice would you love to give yourself?

Enjoy it. It’s so easy to feel undue pressure from yourself but if you’re dedicating yourself to what you want to do, you’ll always be doing your very best. Sometimes this may not live up to your set expectations for what this is meant to be but it’s all learning and it’s all leading somewhere – you just might not know where yet. 

Why is New Designers important to you and your brand?

Thrown was established to give a platform to emerging talent in craft and finding so much of this under one roof at New Designers is truly exciting to experience every year. For us, it’s a really important event that helps us discover new artists. 

If your brand was a design technique what would it be and why?

I think Thrown is akin to glaze testing. Constant research, experimentation and editing which leads to some exciting discoveries – some wholly unexpected.
