JUDGES COMMENTS

Edwina’s socially conscious design thinking really strick a cord with us. Her application of music and culture to influence her process feels original and progressive. We’re excited to see what she does when applying that thinking to our portfolio of brands.

AWARD PRIZE

The winner will be offered a two-month, paid programme of study within The Design Pool Team at Pentland Brands – which was set up to recruit and develop exceptional talent from all design disciplines. They’ll receive training, get mentored by creative people in the business and be given the chance to work on exciting projects across a range of brands.

Under the guidance of The Creative Talent Manager, they will provide creative and commercial solutions to briefs set by Pentland Brands.
The briefs will reflect the whole spectrum of a design role within Pentland Brands and will vary from perhaps a research-based project to designing a new footwear range or technical product. All interns get the opportunity to attend exhibitions, visit shops and travel to get inspiration and shape their ideas.

The programme is designed to harness talent and use it to be an additional resource to work alongside existing brand design teams, providing stimulation and extra resource for a design team when needed. It’s an excellent experience for any budding designer who is looking to develop their creative skills in a commercial environment.

AWARD CRITERIA

We’re looking for exceptional, unique, design talent. Whether that’s an innovative product design, amazing print work or engaging graphic or motion design, we’ll be impressed by the things that take us somewhere new.

The graduate will be chosen by the Pentland Brands judging panel, and they will need to demonstrate brilliant design and breadth in their final project and portfolio.
