TITLE OF WORK: Snippet
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This collection of contemporary printed tableware encourages bringing statement colour and print into the home. Hand-drawn designs are Inspired by texture and colours found in vibrant cities from materials like concrete, wood and metal. The aim is to inject colour and happiness onto something tangible and useful every day.
AWARD BRIEF DESCRIPTION: With a view to the future, the designers personality and Royal Doulton’s design ethos, the designers were asked to uncover the next new trend in contemporary tableware.
JUDGES COMMENTS: Rachel Toye fulfilled our brief perfectly, understanding the changing needs of the modern consumer with fresh and innovative designs that beautifully express her own personal style. Rachel’s designs also demonstrated a clear understanding of the Royal Doulton brand ethos; sharing the plate, the story and a life made of meaningful moments.
