TITLE OF WORK: Rust Print

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Rust Print is a slip casting process that allows the rusted surface of steel to be directly transferred onto clay. The forms are high fired, trapping rusts ephemeral patina as a permanent trace on the clay body.

JUDGES COMMENTS: There is a quiet strength throughout Nadire’s work that stood out immediately. Her use of clay, harnessing a natural reaction, is full of intrigue – exquisite surfaces to be explored.
