Course name : BDes (Hons) Textile Design
On the Textile Design programme at DJCAD we strive to foster creative curiosity in our students and channel this into an experimental yet purposeful approach to design and making. Our students explore their design concepts through a broad range of both traditional and advanced materials and processes, with access to a host of creative workshops and staff expertise. Knit, print, stitch and mixed media approaches are all encouraged, and the wider art college environment gives students access to laser cutting, 3D printing and other workshops such as woodwork and ceramics.

We have a vibrant studio and workshop culture where students develop their skills and build a supportive creative network amongst their peers. They are encouraged to consider the role of textiles within society and investigate areas such as the social and environmental impact of textiles, health and wellbeing, and inclusive design.

One of the highest ranked textiles courses in the UK our students and graduates regularly win top awards through live industry briefs and international competitions. The city of Dundee is rich in textile history, a UNESCO city of Design and home to the V&A Museum of Design, Dundee. It’s an exciting and dynamic place to study. The designers who emerge from our course establish themselves both locally and around the globe.
