Course name : BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery
BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery is a world-renowned degree programme, delivered solely by the Royal School of Needlework (RSN) and validated by Kingston University. Study is full-time over three years and takes place onsite at Hampton Court Palace, southwest London.

The RSN provides a dynamic learning experience connecting specialist hand embroidery with art and design, contextual studies, and professional practice. Study in small groups with individual workspaces in the RSN degree studios. Tutorial support is from experienced academics and practitioners, professional RSN embroidery tutors, visiting lecturers, and our technical support teams.

RSN Degree students have access to their own onsite art and design library, IT suite, specialist textile resources, and exquisite, rarely seen embroideries to support their evolving research. Visits to galleries and specialist collections enhance the contextual studies programme.

Studio-based projects explore a wide range of contexts applying digital and analogue processes from couture through to fashion accessories, textile art, costume, and interiors. Live projects and competitions offer the opportunity to experience the diverse career routes that hand embroidery offers and develop employability skills which are at the core of the programme.
