MEET THIS YEAR’S ONE YEAR IN CURATOR, SALLY ANGHARAD
MATERIAL & TREND CONSULTANT, DESIGN WRITER
Sally Angharad is a material and trend consultant, searching out the latest innovations and identifying new directions for designers, manufacturers, and retailers. She has a wealth of experience identifying and analysing design trends from concept to creative industry sectors, covering material innovation and lifestyle trends. She has provided workshops, trend content and marketing material for global brands such as L’Oréal, Camira Fabrics, Comex, Antron, Caesarstone, and has contributed to design reports for BEAUTYSTREAMS and Colour of Saying agencies. She also curates material and product displays for in-house design events and exhibitions such as Surface Design Show, London.
Before establishing her consultancy in 2014, she worked as a colour trend consultant and features editor for an international colour and trend forecasting agency, Colour Hive/MIX Magazine. Sally continues to write editorial content for MIX Magazine, focusing on colour theory.
A regular speaker at design trends and material innovation events, Sally contributed to the Transitions 2: Material Revolution conference at the University of Huddersfield. This conference brought together the creative, and collaborative networks of academia, business, practitioners, and manufacturers who explored how sustainable technologies, innovative design and creative entrepreneurship can and are impacting on a new material world.
In addition to being a material and trend consultant, Sally is also a senior lecturer on the BA Fashion Design course at Leeds Beckett University, focusing colour, design and trends.
