KIN'S CARDBOARD DESIGN CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

What amazing household design could YOU come up with using a handful of cardboard?

Kin’s Cardboard Design Challenge asks exactly that: for the graduating class of New Designers 2022, the task is to create a space-efficient, simple, and stylish garden product – using 4 pieces of A2 cardboard, a little elbow grease, and a whole lot of imagination!

CRITERIA

Entrants should feel free to cut, fold, glue, bind and tighten the material together, keeping the following four concepts in mind to create a beautiful garden product:

  • Space Efficiency: the design must save space for the consumer.
  • Usability: the design must still be usable for its intended purpose.
  • Simplicity: the design should be easy for the consumer to use.
  • Aesthetic: the design should be aesthetically pleasing to be suitable for use in consumers’ gardens.

THE PRIZE

The challenge reflects the simplicity and elegance displayed across the entirety of Kin’s product range. And of course, the winning design solution may have an opportunity to go further into production and become a real product in the market. That’s not to mention the other perks of winning: £1000 in cash*, social media promotion, and a 2-week virtual placement joining Kin’s very own design team.

*This sum is for the transferral of the IP of the project and product design to Kin Limited.
