With 33 award categories for this year’s graduates to enter, the prizes on offer provided a range of opportunities for students to boost their transition into industry.

By partnering with a range of leading industry names we have launched the ND AWARDS programme digitally for a second year. This will have over 30 award categories for this year’s graduates to enter.  We are also working with our sponsors to ensure their prizes offer a whole range of opportunities for the students that will boost the transition into industry. 

Celebrating and championing design talent, the 2021 ND AWARDS have been created by our industry partners to challenge graduate designers to produce innovative and ground-breaking designs. The first round of briefs are now live and available to download, the second will launch Tuesday 23 March 2021.


The ND EDUCATES programme is now available to listen to on demand. Taking place from 1 – 10 July the carefully curated programme was bursting with top tips, how to’s and panel discussions on emerging design topics to support emerging talent in their next chapter as a creative professional.

New Designers is dedicated to creating meaningful connections between innovative young designers and industry which lead directly to employment.

The 2021 digital initiatives supported networking and created opportunities for designers to connect with industry.


New this year, ND offered 35 unique design mentorships exclusively available to the ND Class of 21.

Available in every design discipline, from textile artists and ceramicists, to glass blowers and product designers, discover the profiles of the mentors from leading brands.


Giving 15-18 year olds the chance to talk directly to college tutors and graduates, as well as, providing a chance to find out everything they need to know about the higher education courses on offer and the steps they need to take to pursue a career in design.


The Screening Award is an opportunity for the very best graduating filmmakers and animators to present their shorts in a curated showing at the ND event, be recognized for their designs and awarded a prize to support them on their next steps into the design industry.
