ND AWARDS 2021 PROGRAMME

The ND AWARDS celebrate every design discipline, from fashion and textiles, jewellery, precious metalwork, glass and ceramics, contemporary design crafts to furniture design, product and industrial design, spatial design, visual communications and digital design.

The briefs are set by our industry partners and allow ND students to use their creativity to win a range of prizes and opportunities to boost their transition into the creative industries.

The second and final round of briefs will be launched on Tuesday 23 March. The ND AWARDS programme is open to graduates from participating courses that are part of New Designers 2021, please sign up to the mailing list below to be alerted to when the next round of awards briefs are live. We look forward to welcoming you to New Designers 2021. ND AWARDS is the only graduate awards programme celebrating every design discipline, from fashion and textiles, jewellery, precious metalwork, glass and ceramics, contemporary design crafts to furniture design, product and industrial design, spatial design, visual communications and digital design.

From Tuesday 23 February 2021, participating students can explore and download the highly anticipated briefs from more than 20 industry partners, spanning all design disciplines. The approach of the awards is aligned to industry practice, each award partner has created a brief(s) for ND graduates to respond to, along with prizes to winners including; £1,000 to support the development of their design career, mentoring and placement opportunities.

Participating students will have six weeks to respond and submit their design concepts by midnight, Friday 28 May 2021.

Each of the awards will be judged by an illustrious panel of judges supported by award partners, with the opportunity to win a range of prizes and opportunities to boost their transition into the creative industries.

  • Deadline for all entries, midnight Friday 28 May 2021
  • There is no limit to the number of awards you can respond to, but each entry must be tailored to that specific brief
  • Entries are to be submitted online
    • New Designers will take place 30 June – 3 July (Week 1) and 7 – 10 July 2021 (Week 2)
