New Designers

About us

We believe that great design shapes the human experience. New Designers provides a unique platform for fresh design talent to connect with design educators, professionals and consumers, for creative exchange and collaboration. Join us to champion and celebrate the future of design.

WHAT WE OFFER

CONNECTION New Designers connects talented design graduates with businesses looking to bring in new design thinking; buyers looking to source the most innovative craft and design; and aspiring students with the widest range of design courses available to explore.

DISCOVERY We provide two weeks of incredible design discovery; and break the boundaries between the different disciplines, with an increasing number of collaborations and new opportunities. You’ll discover new ideas, products, trends and talent.

DIALOGUE New Designers is a place for discourse and debate. From social, political and environmental influences and challenges – to how we can use design to create a more sustainable future – come along and join the conversation.

HOW WE WORK

SUPPORTIVE We want all our New Designers to succeed. Our Awards programmes recognise the best new talent; we run Prepare days to provide advice and guidance for the event; and we provide subsidised rates to enable courses to participate.

INCLUSIVE We believe that diversity fuels great design; and we strive to include courses and designers that encompass multiple disciplines, geographies and backgrounds. We are constantly looking at how we can evolve to bring in new courses, brands and audiences to support and reflect our New Designers community.

PROGRESSIVE Great design never stands still, and should challenge the status quo. We champion new thinking, and new approaches to solving today’s problems through design. As society changes, so do New Designers.

What They Say

“New Designers has heralded a number of great designers who are household names now, so if you want to see the stars of the future it’s a great place to come.  It’s also a great place to get inspired by design ideas: there are very innovative and new great designs here that’ll hopefully see the light of day for the public to buy in the future.” Joe Ferry, Creative Director in Design – Experience

“It is just a brilliant showcase to come along to, to get inspired, to learn about the new trends, I could just spend hours here!” Amira Hashish, digital features editor of the Evening Standard and design columnist for the Independent and I newspapers

“I always make a point of coming to New Designers every year and this is my 17th year of coming after exhibiting and I think it’s great to see all of the talent from all over the country under one roof.” Bethan Gray – Creative Director

“There’s nowhere else quite like New Designers where you can come into one remarkable space and see the pick of the crop of a generation of young designers.” Deyan Sudjic, Director, Design Museum
