TITLE OF WORK:

A Lust for Leather

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

A staggering 800,000 tonnes of leather scraps end up on landfill annually. I was driven to prevent leather scraps from local crafts people going to waste. In doing so, I converted them into new compositions material that went beyond the natural limitations of leather, such as having the ability to be cast in moulds.

This brief provided a chance for the designers to use their skills and talents as a creative thinker to build or build on a project that will have a positive impact on our environment.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

Imogen looked at a huge environmental issue through a pragmatic lens, deep research & practical outcomes, we were really impressed with the level of thought, her design principles & techniques.
