PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is a celebration of community gardening, highlighting the importance of access to an outside space and connecting with others within your community. Inspired by the recent food shortages, I have explored community gardens with allotments that teach about growing your own with the idea of becoming more self-sustaining. I took visual imagery from The Culpeper Garden in Islington, a public community garden that is an excellent example of how access to an outdoor space can improve mental and physical health. My outcome aims were to create a contemporary commercial lifestyle collection suitable for a summer gathering at a community garden.
AWARD CRITERIA
As a designer we would like you to demonstrate how your collection expresses confident use of pattern and colour to evoke a specific mood through interior furnishings.
We are looking for a collection that recognises the aspirations and requirements of today’s customer and demonstrates creativity, innovation and commercial understanding through a strong concept, exceptional use of colour, and iconic designs that are inspiring and new.
