Jo Boateng
Jo Boateng is a talented artist who specialises in jewellery and printmaking. She grew up in Kumasi, Ghana, where she was heavily influenced by the arts and crafts of her childhood. Additionally, her interest in Memphis, the Italian art movement, from the 1980s also plays a significant role in her work.
Jo is currently based in South London where she uses traditional jewellery-making techniques to create her pieces. In 2022, she was awarded a De Beers Group Starter Level Jewellery Scholarship. Her work was recognised when she won Best in Show at the Chroic Jewellery Competition, and her prints were featured in the Morley Gallery MADE 2023 Exhibition. Furthermore, she was one of the ten emerging makers selected to participate in The Goldsmith's Centre's Shine 2023 programme.
