The New Designers team enjoyed a visit to Craft Central last night to enjoy the opening of Made in Clerkenwell, the bi-annual celebration of Craft Central resident designer-makers and Network members. We were delighted to see the work of Yuta Segawa and Forest + Found on display and catch up with them before they both exhibit in Part 1 of New Designers 2016. We also had the chance to catch up with Flora Bhattachary who won the New Designers One Year On Award at the show last year.

Emerging design at Salone Satellite

We started early to tackle what many would consider the main event of Milan Design Week, Salone del Mobile, on the outskirts of the city to the North West. Vast in scale, it attracts some 300,000 visitors over six days and is very much the place for doing serious business. Salone featured by far and away the most impressive, ambitious stand builds we've encountered yet - double decker, glass-fronted, VIP desks, meeting rooms, chandeliers, bars, water features - all being typical features
